This is another of our favorite German Christmas traditions: advent calendars.  They have 24 little flaps numbered 1 to 24, and under each flap is a little chocolate piece.  Each morning, the kids find the appropriate day and eat the chocolate with breakfast.

I gotta hand it to the Germans - they sure know how to play up the anticipation to Christmas!
