School, lawns, baseball, and trucks are kicking Lukie's butt. It's tiring to be 16.

Tonight, Luke asked Raegan to homecoming with this fancy poster...
...and found this waiting for him on her porch. Raegan won.

I went for a lonely walk on the golf course tonight, feeling sad that Adam is back at BYU and not here for me to watch.

I thought this would be a cute art project to do in nursery.
One out of six kids actually did it. The rest pressed the ink pads into their papers and left all their cute fingerprints on their church clothes.

Continuing my Jill-is-home-alone fun, I went up to Jess and McKay's house to see the progress on their stair-moving. Full disclosure: this photo is from about a week ago, but it was too fun to be there and hang with them, I forgot to snap a pic. It's basically the same now, although they've put the railing back around the hole so the doggies don't fall in.
Pep and Adam also came (Adam came home a day early from the Gorge to go to a mission reunion), and we hit a yummy Mexican restaurant near Jess's house for dinner.
This is why I moved here.

Later that night, Brad sent me this pic of Adam surfing right up next to the rock wall. Not cool, Brad, not cool. My momma heart did NOT need to see this!

That gorgeous pedicure Jess gave me at Bear Lake turned out to be BULLETPROOF! I had to soak cotton in acetone, then let my toes soak for an hour to get it off. I'm sad the pretty polish is gone, but the claws needed to be clipped.

Yesterday, while we visited over Torrey's homecoming brunch, Jason told us about a Roosevelt area self-proclaimed prophet whose family kept his body in a deep freezer for a year after his death. I immediately thought of this guy, who greeted us at the Ballard Best Western on Saturday night.
The Uintah Basin is a crazy place.

Stupid Durango. This time it's a busted water pump, but it feels like we fix something at least once a month. Pretty soon we'll have a 2022 model inside the 2012 shell.

Luke's first day of Junior year. He got up and slipped out of the house, but I heard the front door slam, so I hustled to the balcony to snap this very pathetic First Day of School Photo.
This is him that same night before going to baseball practice. The brat. But at least it's a close up.

I went to the Draper Family Party this afternoon, where I got to spend a couple hours with my mom's siblings. I could not have loved it more!
Mom and Aunt Peg. This pic captures their personalities perfectly.
Aunt Kris, Mom, and Aunt Peg splash while Jami looks on.
Mom, Aunt Vicky, and Aunt Peg
The highlight of the day was this story and photo shared by Aunt Peg. My Grandma Draper (center) took a trip to Northern CA to visit her brother Lynn, and planned to take my mom (left) along to help with Mike (in stroller). Peg, the perpetual middle child, was so sad not to be invited and felt very forgotten in the days leading up to the trip. On the morning they were to leave, Peg woke up to a new pair of pedal pushers her mom had sewed for her with a note saying she could come. Peg is wearing those pedal pushers in the pic. Peg shared how thrilled she was to be included and she felt seen by her mother, even though she was buried in the middle of a huge family.

We went to a Bees game tonight, and Casey and Luke took part in a race dressed up as veggies. Luke was the corn, Casey the cabbage. Luke started off strong, but ran out of steam. Casey was the winner!

I interviewed for a part-time admin position in Lehi seminaries today, and wore the same dress as one of the ladies on the panel. At least I know I was dressed appropriately!
