Today was spent shopping for EFY-friendly clothes for Jessica.  She's headed for EFY at BYU on Monday (against her will) and after some retail therapy, I hope she's more excited about it.

What a super fun day!!

We spent the morning with my family at "This Is The Place Heritage Park", where we pretended we lived in Olden Days (Pepper wasn't sure we were pretending - he kept talking to the workers as if they really lived there).

All of us on the steps of Brigham Young's Forest Farmhouse.

After our morning in the past, we drove to modern-day Salt Lake City and met Brad's family for lunch and shopping in the cool new downtown area.

We finished off the day at the Church History museum, where Lois volunteers.  We met one of her fellow volunteers, who is a distant uncle/cousin/relative through Karl G. Maeser, who is my Ancestor Bestie.  Then, Lois took us on a quick tour of the museum.

Semi-spooky death masks of Joseph and Hyrum Smith.

Trying out the sample berths showing the sleeping conditions of Saints sailing to Zion.

By the end of the day, we were tired, but very satisfied.  Ahhhhh.

Tonight, my parents treated us to dinner and a show.  First we met at Sizzler (seriously, YUM!) and then went to The Sound of Music at the Hale Center Theater.

Note to self:  Always sit next to Bust at the Hale Center Theater.  He will make even the not-so-funny parts funny.  While the rest of the theater patrons were gazing dreamily at Maria and Capt. Von Trapp falling in love as they sang "Something Good", our six seats were shaking with barely controlled laughter.  I guess we're just not mature enough to watch people act like they're in love while belting out a song two inches away from each other's faces.

I had to get some pictures of the boys playing their Boy Games at Grandma's house.  This is the stuff memories are made of.

Jess and Pep are up in Layton partying with Brad's family, and I thought Adam and Luke ought to do something fun while the big kids are gone.  So, we invited Jayce and Austin to join us at Seven Peaks water park, and then have a Boy Sleepover.  It was a cazzh (how should I spell that?  You know, short for casual) evening, just chilling in the wave pool and lazy river with the boys.

Adam and Jayce disappeared almost immediately upon entering the park, taking off on their own to try all the big slides, but I was able to get a couple of photos of them in the five minutes when our paths crossed.

Jami was there too with her little boys, so she and I hung with the six-and-unders.

I like this picture because you can see the mountainside behind them.  I've missed these mountains.

After the water park, we came back to Grandma's house for the sleepover.  We may or may not have had donuts for dinner (don't judge me - they were on sale for $3.50 for as many donuts as you could pack into a box.  Like you could pass THAT up), and then Austin and Luke crashed in bed while Jayce and Adam watched a movie about people on Mars.  It was a good, good night.

I'm starting to think that I wouldn't recognize Adam without this little blue thing in front of his face.

Last night, after the boys were in bed, Jess and I joined Jen and Makell for Disco Night at the Classic Roller Skating Rink.

 Jen was a smoooooth operator!

Jess and Makell also tore it up.

And why is there no picture of me gliding sexily around the rink?

Because I wiped out about 15 minutes into the Disco Grooves and I think broke my tailbone.  So, I spent the rest of the night sitting on the side, sipping a Diet Coke and enjoying the BeeGees and Earth, Wind, and Fire.  I can think of a lot worse ways to spend a Saturday night.

Unfortunately, because of my sore ba-donk-a-donk, I am hobbling around like an old woman today.  I wish there was a more glamorous reason for my pain.  It's kind of embarrassing to tell people that I broke my bum when I went bottoms-up while roller skating at disco night.  There is just nothing about that scenario that makes me look good.
