Today, my baby boy turned SIX!!

Pepper is spending the weekend with Isaac, so he called to wish Lukie a Happy Birthday.

We kept things pretty simple - just went to a little splash park with some cousins.

After cake and ice cream, it was time for presents!

Luke was initially disgusted with this bike because it has training wheels.  Once I assured him I would take them off, he was ecstatic!

Luckily, Grandma Larson has some bikes in her garage for Austin and Dylan.  These three made quite a posse!

This afternoon we went to watch Isaac's baseball game.  We were so excited to be there to watch him hit a home run!  So cool!

(You thought I was done with the baseball posts, didn't you?  Hah!)

This is momentous.  It's my mom sending her very first text - EVER!!

I love the 4th of July!!

First, we went to the Provo parade.

Then to the Larson homestead for pizza and water games.

 

In the afternoon, we drove up to Layton for a barbeque with the Bitners.

 

Dee. Light. Full.

More driving today.

We did stop here for a short break.  This is the Monticello temple, which is somewhere between Cortez, CO and Alpine, UT.

When we finally pulled into Alpine, UT, this is what we saw:

There was this HUGE wild fire on the mountain above my parents' house.  Utah has had a ton of wild fires this year because it is so dry and they didn't have much snow last winter.  Wild fires are not my favorite.

Today was Day One of our long drive to Utah.  Ugh.  Nobody should have to spend that many hours driving through New Mexico.

Sunday dinner at Jode's house.  Have I mentioned that I love staying here?

I would like to thank Syddo for giving me an excuse to buy a chocolate cake with buttercream icing.  It's only my favorite dessert in the whole world.
